Inferences III

I had last published on the blog in December. During this six month-break from blogging, I got plenty of time to observe and hence infer more. Here are eleven such inferences and I plan to publish some more of them subsequently on the blog. Dear reader, I hope you enjoy the read and identify with these inferences as much as I do.

Everyone has a different way of showing concern.

Loneliness starts becoming solitude when you start accepting yourself.

Optimism should not overpower rationality. If it does, it discontinues being optimism. It becomes stupidity.

Every event should be seen as an opportunity to learn.

Art is one platform where you are not limited by any restrictions. You really are free to fly.

Having flaws is the best thing that can happen to a person.

Naming people is necessary but comical. Throughout one’s life, one’s prime identifier continues to be just a word.

The joy of falling asleep early and waking up early is much greater than the mere pleasure of staying up till late and waking up late. Yet most of us choose to do the latter. This is but an example of our attachment to lethargy and darkness.

Changing a habit is actually very easy. You just have to train your body and/or mind in a particular manner.

Failure is inevitable and necessary. There’s no doubt about that. However, we must rise above it immediately. It is much harder to cope up if the rise is delayed.

The deeper you go, the higher you reach.

Some More Inferences

The path to perfection does not have a rational destination but a satisfactory one.

The biggest difficulty lies not in working hard to achieve something but in continuing to work hard after the achievement.

There is no room for ego when one realizes that people have different viewpoints and that each one of them is equally right, in its own way, as any other.

Being philosophical is the basic tendency of any person. Each person has a philosophy upon which he/she bases his/her decisions.

What keeps us from excelling is that we don’t realize that we truly are powerful.

The greatest lessons of life are taught to us when we are very young, in the form of short stories. We forget about them for a while and again start believing in them when we start awakening.

A truly favorite thing is something that the inner – self can flawlessly identify with. It is a lifelong companion.

Some or the other type of commonness of feeling things exists between those who are close to each other.

True victory lies not in showing off your strengths but in accepting your weaknesses.

The first step towards improvement is that you stop lying to yourself by accepting things as they really are.

I once believed in a philosophy, forgot about it and again started believing in it. The philosophy is: Everything is possible.

Sardar Patel - A Symbol Of Unity

Once, a boy was born in the village of Karamsad in Gujarat to a gurjar family in British India. His eagerness to learn caused him to walk daily to schools situated far from his village. This eagerness resulted in the ambition to become a successful lawyer. After returning from England, where he had gone to study, he earned acknowledgement as an outstanding barrister. Greatly impressed with Gandhi's ideas, he decided to quit his career as a lawyer and devote his full time and energy to the freedom movement. The result of his and his fellow freedom fighters' hard - work and persistence was the independence of India. After independence, he successfully solved the mammoth problem of integration of princely states by persuading the princes, through his kind diplomacy, to join India. For this accomplishment, he is recognized as the epitome of unity all over the world.

Yes, this Karamsad - born boy was none other than Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Iron Man of India. I strongly believe that application of Sardar's ideas in today's world will lead to a substantial betterment of society. Unity is that force which enables us to endure even the hardest of hard times happily. Following Sardar's model, we should practice to be united at least in our own day-to-day lives.

This year it was declared that the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, that is, 30th October will be celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas every year. Also, Statue of Unity, dedicated to Sardar Patel, will be installed near Vadodara in Gujarat. Statue of Unity will be the tallest statue in the entire world. I salute these initiatives of the government to acknowledge the immense contribution of this great leader to the well - being of India. I myself pay a tribute to Iron Man of India, through the following poem.

Once there lived a great man,

Born in an Indian clan.

Vallabhbhai Patel he was named,

As “Ironman”, he’ll always be hailed.

He secured India’s hard-won liberty,

By becoming a symbol of unity.

Alas, he is not in the present day,

To resolve disunity persistent today.

Folks are typed by the creed,

Before being asked about their deed.

Sure, independent we are,

But doors of inequity are ajar.

We have mistaken diversity,

For nothing but an agent of adversity.

Above this error we must rise,

So as to stop the painful cries.

Together, we stand as a community,

In the struggle to bring about unity.

Long ago Sardar had showed the path,

It is now our turn to walk the path.

Inferences

Well, as the title suggests these are some inferences about life that I've somewhat arrived at. They may be called Aphorisms. Of course, I realize that living by these is not easy, but I just hope they influence me in a positive way. I hope you too can identify with some of them.

Talent needs courage in order to be efficient.

An idea is like a plant, it dies if it is not nurtuted.

Rationality is a gift to us but very often it is the thing that stops us from fulfilling our dreams.

The main reason behind being depressed is not being where you are destined to be.

It is courage and consistency that makes an extraordinary man different from others.

A human mind can’t do without knowing, it always wants to know more.

Guilt is nothing to be afraid of. Every guilt trip is just an indicator of your improvement. It actually encourages you to improve more.

Ego is the root of all problems. It should be minimized as much as possible.

It is only acceptance that gives you peace.

Religion is but a simplified version of spirituality, it is for the masses.

Science was observed because men wanted reason.
